The Fragment: An Artist Lecture of Sleep, Dreaming and Memory

The Fragment is an artist book exploring how our present experience decomposes into the fragments that make up our memories and permeate into our dreams. Although dreams are populated with memory, the references to memories in our dreams never seem to be an exact copy but rather a series of fragments. The dream insists on building an entirely new world every time. This artist talk will consider the unique architecture of the dream environment and the everchanging distance between sleep and wake. The session began with a network of shared dream patterns created from attendees' recent dreams followed by readings from the artist book.
